Many of us hate grocery shopping. I would probably guess most of us hate how much it costs and what little we feel like we bring home.

Then we watch out kids eat everything new in one day.  You’re back to what was left in the fridge and you go out and spend more money all over again.

Anyone else who has a love/hate relationship with their smartphone? I know I do. I love it because I can save so much money with it and run my blogs and keep up with friends and family, but I hate it because I want it all the time. To look something up, or see what’s going on. The access to it is incredibly easy.

6 Free Money Saving Grocery Apps

1. Favado

This app is the one you need to use to save you time and money. This app takes all your local stores and gives you the option to price compare to see who has a better deal. The plus of this app is you can click an item that is on sale to see how to get it cheaper if you use coupons.

Quickly search and find out which local store has the lowest prices for the items you buy each week. Or, rest assured knowing that you got the best deal on that last minute ingredient you had to pick up for dinner or impromptu gathering. It’s nice to see the price without coupons in case you didn’t have certain coupons.

The rest of the apps mentioned below are also listed as savings in the Favado app.

2. Savingstar

Add e-coupons that load to your loyalty card, buy the item at your local store and receive the money into your account. You have to choose which store and activate the offer BEFORE YOU PURCHASE your item.

This one is unique when they offer e-coupons where you can buy more than one item to save a larger amount. For example, buy $20 in P&G products get $5 cashback.  Plus they have FREEBIES they offer. You do NOT need a smartphone for access to this.

3. Ibotta

This is the same concept as Checkout 51 but you have different offers at different stores. This app has a listing of local stores to choose from. Tops Markets and BJ’s, Target, and Walmart are on there for my locals!

You have to submit a picture of your receipt. This app does not work with my OLD outdated smartphone. It may not work with all phones. But worth a try because they have a lot of any brand offers on there! Cash is put into your PayPal account or gift cards. This one is unique because they offer savings on beer, wine, and liquor!

4. Target Cartwheel/Target App

This is just for Target shoppers.  You can add coupons to your account and scan the barcode from the tablet, phone or printed bar code from your computer.  If you shop at Target you need this. Many items are up and up and you can combine Target coupons with manufacturer coupon with this! For a triple stack savings and add in Checkout 51 and Ibotta wow oh wow!

Cartwheel offers can also be used for ONLINE shopping. Many times you just add the item and choose free store pick up. This is a lifesaver especially during the Holidays when Target offers their Toy Cartwheel of the day deals!

Don’t forget to use your Target Redcard to save 5% on your total purchase. Plus you can hook this up to your debit card so no extra credit card bill! You do NOT need a smartphone to access this one.

5. BerryCart

This app is unique because they only offer natural organic items. BerryCart is similar to the Ibotta and CheckOut51 cash back apps in that you can earn money on the purchase of a product.

Like Ibotta, you can also unlock a rebate by learning about a new product or completing an action. On BerryCart you will NOT see products that have High Fructose Corn Syrup, Artificial Sweeteners, or chemicals that you can clean your floor with. You can get your earnings through pay pal or gift cards!

6. Checkout 51

What you do is check out the weekly deals posted to the site, buy a participating product, snap a photo of your receipt showing that you bought the item, and the app will credit you with cash. You can buy the items from ANY STORE!  Once your savings balance hits $20.00, the company will mail you a check.

You can buy the items from ANY STORE!  Once your savings balance hits $20.00, the company will mail you a check. ( Or you can have it go to your bank account.) This is my favorite because the produce offers change weekly!  I like to use the produce offers at Aldi because they can have some amazing prices each week.  You do NOT need a smartphone to access this app.

Check out our list of all the BEST deals at Aldi HERE.

Do you use any of these Apps?

Are there any apps I do not have listed that you would recommend?
