The trend this season? Elegant, minimalist, and oh-so-chic Christmas trees. Gone are the days of over-the-top color schemes; instead, Pinterest is calling for muted palettes, frosted finishes, and streamlined silhouettes. If you’re hunting for that perfect, elegant tree, here’s my journey — from unboxing to the final glow — with the Puleo International 6.5 ft Pre-Lit Flocked Pine Pencil Tree.
My love for a flock of trees started back in 2020. Do I need to say more about the sudden urge to make your home light up in ways you’ve never had before during that time?
I decided to splurge and spend over $200 on a flocked skinny tree from Target. It lasted me two years. Then the lights started going and last year I tried so hard to find that nice warm light that came with the tree and failed.
I started looking early this year, and that’s when I found the one I have now.
Why “elegant” trees are trending now
Before diving into my own tree story, here’s what’s hot this season:
- Neutral & tonal palettes — whites, creams, soft golds, blushes, greys
- Flocked / snow-dusted finishes to evoke a winter wonderland effect
- Slim (pencil / narrow) profiles that work in tight spaces and still look lofty
- Warm white or soft LED lights rather than saturated RGB blinking
- Mixing textures — metallics, glass, natural elements — rather than bold color clashes
This aesthetic is everywhere on Pinterest, TikTok, and decor blogs. It feels elevated, cozy, and modern.
My Experience with the Puleo Flocked Pine Pencil Tree
Here’s how my experience went — and why this tree checked many of the elegant boxes for me.

Unboxing & first impressions
I ordered the Puleo International 6.5 ft Pre-Lit Flocked Pine Pencil Tree (with 300 warm-white LED lights and ~410 branch tips) from TikTok. ( Don’t worry, it’s linked at all the major online retailers as well, below)
When it arrived, the box was compact (thanks to the slim profile). The flocking gave it an immediate “powdered snow” look even before I fluffed the branches. I appreciated that it came with a stand and was pre-lit — a huge timesaver.
I’ve set it up twice already ( and it’s only October—thanks, TikTok Shop!), and the first time was the worst for the white stuff falling on the floor. The second time, there was hardly any.
The first time I set it up I did it in the living room ( the videos are of that room, and the tree goes better in there)
Now I have it set up in my office because I’m using it for my Titkok Shop videos, but I will be moving it out to the sunroom after Thanksgiving because the color on the wall isn’t the best for it here.
It hasn’t lost any more white stuff just sitting in my office at the moment either, so that’s a win.

Setup & fluffing
Because it’s a pencil / narrow tree, I didn’t have to wrestle it open like wide-branch trees. The branches were bendable and responsive. I fluffed outward from the trunk, gently spreading each branch tip, paying special attention to fill any gaps.
One tip I used was to keep some branches a little more upright (not fully horizontal) near the trunk and place my larger statement ornaments there — it gave subtle depth.
Once plugged in, the warm LED lights glowed gently — soft and cozy- not harsh or too bright.
I already had ornaments from my last one, but I love the beaded ones from Target. I haven’t added all my ornaments to the tree yet. It’s hard to get in the full-on spirit in October, but since it’s getting dark early, I think it will be easier soon.
You can watch my video of me unboxing below.

Decorating & styling
To lean into the elegant vibe, here’s how I decorated:
- Color palette: champagne golds, translucent glass, soft ivory, touches of dark blue.
- Ornaments: a mix of matte and shiny gold or silver, a few glass baubles, maybe a few white feathers or soft velvet ribbons
- Garlands & additions: I added a slim wooden beaded garland sparingly, and a few sprigs of faux dried eucalyptus or white berries once I’m ready to put it in the sunroom.
- Topper: I used a black star with mirrors from Target. I haven’t added it to the office, but it’s there in my video.
- Tree skirt: A faux white fur skirt to echo that snowy elegance. I love using tree collars easily, farmhouse style.
In my TikTok review (which I’ll embed below), I walk you through my decorating process and show how the lights cast soft shadows on walls, bringing warmth & texture to the room.

What I love — and what to watch out for
What I love:
- It nails the elegant / modern vibe with its frosted look and slim profile
- Pre-lit feature is a big time-saver
- Branches are well-distributed so I didn’t have large bare spots
- The warm LEDs feel cozy and ambient, not party-bright
- Works beautifully in tighter or narrower rooms
What to watch out for:
- Because it’s narrow, very large or heavy ornaments might tip branches — heavier items should go nearer the trunk
- The flocking (snow coating) can shed a little when fluffing — I did it gently and wore a dust mask
- The stand is basic; if your floor is wonky, I swapped in a sturdier tree stand

Decorating Tips: Make Your Tree Look Luxurious
Here are a few styling tips I used (you can even call these “pin-worthy” tips):
- Start with the lights – Make sure your lighting is even before hanging ornaments
- Group ornaments in odd numbers – e.g. clusters of 3 or 5 for balance
- Vary size & texture – Mix matte, gloss, glass, metallic, and fabric
- Leave blank space – Don’t overfill every branch; elegant trees have breathing room
- Reflect light – Use mirrored or metallic ornaments near window-facing sides
- Add natural touches – Dried elements (eucalyptus, pampas, berries) soften the look
- Use a delicate topper – So the beauty of the tree’s top branch shows
- Keep your color scheme tight – Stick to 2–3 main tones max
The Puleo International 6.5 ft Pre-Lit Flocked Pine Pencil Tree is a strong contender for anyone wanting an elegant, frosted, and space-conscious Christmas tree. It brings ambiance without bulk, and when styled intentionally, it elevated my holiday décor this year.
It’s available at all most online retailers.
It’s on Amazon, Walmart, and QVC.
Happy Decorating!
