Ideas for at Home
Breakfast in bed
This cinnamon loaf is amazing if you want to make it the night before.
Cooking
Make a meal together- and order matching aprons.
Baking Competition
Put your baking skills to the test — or learn some new ones — with a mother-daughter baking competition! See who can bake the best dessert and have fun in the kitchen together.
At Home Spa Day
Treat mom to a relaxing spa day at home. Run her a hot bath, light candles, and give her a mini manicure and pedicure. Don’t forget the cucumbers for her eyes!
We recently did this, and the girls had a blast. I find these face masks easiest with younger kids. All we did was paint nails and put a face mask on with cucumbers from the school lunches!
Learn Something New Together
There are several online websites offering free classes right now due to COVID-19. Maybe you want to learn another language together?
Have a picnic in the backyard
Make it extra special with a pretty new picnic basket.
Consider having a picture day.
These cameras that instantly print out the pictures are fantastic and can be put into a scrapbook immediately.
Host a game night
Gather up your friends and family for an evening of board games and laughter. Make some snacks and drinks, and have a blast playing your favorite games.
You can try making her a delicious white claw slushie! I personally haven’t tried this, but it’s all over social media and looks tasty.
Have a Facetime/Video party
with friends and family and play Never Have I…
Prepare a video slideshow
Surprise mom with a special video slideshow featuring photos and videos of you two. Share old memories and tell your mom how much she means to you.
Write your mom a letter
telling her why you love her, and some of your favorite memories with her
Bake these 5 ingredient delicious (we’ve made them) 5 ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies.
Scavenger Hunt
Keep mom on her toes with a fun scavenger hunt! Hide clues around the house or yard and have her follow them to special treats like chocolates, flowers, or even a homemade card.
My daughters love doing this for others. They use sticky notes and place those around the house that lead you to the next clue.
Game Night
Gather up your friends and family for an evening of board games and laughter. Make some snacks and drinks and have a blast playing your favorite games.
Karaoke Night
Gather your friends and family for a karaoke night in honor of mom. Have fun singing your favorite songs, making memories, and maybe even winning prizes! This microphone is a must-have for Karokee night!
Some more options that include leaving the house
Take a drive through mom’s old neighborhood and play only songs she grew up with.
Go hiking to a spot you’ve never been before
Check your local area to see if they are having any drive thru zoo exhibits. Many have started doing this.
