If you want to throw a Trolls birthday party here are some ideas for you. If you aren’t too concerned whether the items are from the first Trolls movie, head on out to your local Walmart, and Party city asap.
All the Trolls items from the first movie are being clearaned out for the next Trolls movie.
If you have no idea how to throw your child a birthday party on a budget, browse your local store’s party supplies and see what’s on clearance. Tell them that’s the option darling. 🙂
This year I was so excited my daughter wanted to have a Trolls theme. I’ve talked about this a few times in the past, but the Lord always seems to bless us with a deal when we need it.
It’s really a way I smile and see God working all around us. Anyways, school got cancelled for the next day, and it was snowing pretty good. I bought coffee beans and couldn’t find my grinder. I knew the next moring without coffee wasn’t an option.
I ventured out to town that night and got my coffee beans all taken care of. I decided to stop into Walmart to check out birthday party supplies. Low and behold all the Trolls items were on clearance.
Nothing gets more MORE excited then an item I need on clearance. ( check out my weekly clearance hauls here)
I paid only $0.75 for a pack of 8 Trolls plates! I was so excited. Everything was at least 50% off.
We were able to grab a party pack for $8.97 that would fill 8 treat bags.
Be mindful of telling your kids how many friends they can invite if you are going to do treat bags.
We paid $31.21 for all the decorations and treat bags.
I always get a themed cake from BJ’s. I use a BJ’s gift cards I earned from a referral program. Which means it’s like getting it for free.
I love making cakes homemade, but the girls have come to love having a themed birthday party at home with a cake.

I know our birthday parties like this are numbered so I’m all about spending $15 on a cake. We love the cake at BJs, and the whipped non dairy frosting is a hit. Costco cakes are also affordable and I’ve heard great things too.
I have to say the person doing this cake, was rushing when we went to pick it up. In the past we’ve had cakes turn out much better. Still the little 7 year olds loved it.
To make the deal even better we were shopping at Tops Markets and always checking the clearance coolers, I found these Trolls cookies. They were marked to $1.50 each. I grabbed three boxes. We already had the edible markers at home. I was surprise the Trolls World Tour ones were on clearance.
Don’t forget to Use your Amazon music and play the entire Trolls cd. After eating the cookies these girlies needed to burn off some energy.

I knew the kids could put a face on these for an activity at the birthday party.
If you read this post, you know crafting is NOT my favorite thing. I also only wanted to use what we already had to decorate the cookies. And keep things simple.
We have a few gel frosting packs that the girls use. But most just colored a face with the markers. You could use a toothpick to make the waves in Poopy’s hair.
I completely forgot to take pictures while they were decorating. We had 9 girls over. You feel me right?! I had Ziploc bags ready with a black sharpie to write their names. They made some and ate a few and others wanted to bring some home.
I got the rainbow looking tablecloth from Walmart too, it was only $1. Emoji movie items were on clearance too. The Trolls invitations were all gone so we opted for the Emoji invitations for $1.50.
I thought it would be cute to grab the Emoji glasses that were $2.50 to put in the favor bags.
The Troll pens were a gift last Christmas and were a fun touch to the party. You can score those on Amazon here.
I hit up the Valentines Clearance, and usually that’s when I find stuff for party favors. This year I loved we could keep the theme. These bags ended up being $0.25 a piece and worked perfect for the favors.

I scored Elmers Slime Kits for under $3 on clearance at Target and that was another activity we did. It was a good thing we had a table cloth.
I think my favorite was this guy. The kids had fun going through it of course.
I grabbed a Trolls coloring book at Michael’s for $1. But no one ended up coloring anyways.
