Upside Down Taco Nachos in the Ninja Foodi

If you are looking for a twist on traditional tacos and want to use your Ninja Foodi, this recipe is the one to try.

My kids loved it and my husband even more, which means this Upside Down Ninja Foodi Nachos recipe for this frugal momma is a win.

You can use venison or any ground meat in this recipe too. Use what you have on hand to substitute for any ingredients you may not have. All of these ingredients are pretty standard pantry must-haves.

For a printer-friendly version and recipe, go to the bottom.

You can make this in the oven as well.

First off, let me say I’m not a food blogger. If you are new here, I’m all about giving an honest opinion to help you all out. So my pictures are not the best. I’m working on it, though 🙂

I share ways to save money from everything to food to your animals. For example, I got a Ninja Foodi last year for Christmas and shared what I learned about it here with my readers.

I used frozen beef this time because you can do that with the Ninja! Did you see how you can put a whole chicken frozen in? If you do put it is frozen, it takes a lot longer. This is noted in the recipe below.

Just break up your meat good after cooking in the pressure cooker.

I put a spin on the traditional taco recipe. My favorite taco seasoning to use is Taco bell. Otherwise, I’ll make my own here.

You could add diced green chilies or even tamed jalapenos, but my girls are not fans of spicy things, so I omitted it. Using fresh mozzarella is always tastier, BUT shredded mozzarella works just fine for these nachos as well.

I always put a bowl of chips out at the table for extra dipping. No forks are needed.

I hope you enjoy this, and if you do, let me know in the comments.

Another classic twist you need to try in the Ninja Foodi is the Meatloaf recipe I shared here.

DIRECTIONS for Ninja Foodi Upside Down Nachos:

Add meat to Ninja Food with a 1/2 cup of hot water to pressure cook if your meat is frozen, set to Pressure, high, 20 minutes.

Quick-release pressure when time is up. Suppose your meat is not frozen set to Pressure, high 5 minutes.

Quick-release pressure when time is up. After the meat is cooked, drain fat. Leave the meat in the Ninja Foodi pan and add onions and garlic powder.

Turn to Saute med-high setting. Add in Tomatoes, Refried beans, taco seasoning, taco sauce, and heat until bubbling.

Once bubbling, push the meat mixture to the sides and place Tortilla chips in. Add Mozzarella cheese to the top of the mix.

You could top it off with Jalapenos or our favorite tamed Jalapenos. Unfortunately, we didn’t have any this time, but we’ve put them on top in the past and good.

Add sour cream on top of the cheese. Then, top off with more chips and put cheddar cheese on top of the chips.

Remember, the sour cream, cheese, and tortilla chips are really to your liking. Add as much or little as your family enjoys.
